Chosen cloth ( image ): Dacron NEWPORT / CHALLENGE

- The furling headsail is very practical to use.

However, it is less efficient than using carabiners (or a hollow forestay). The furler itself adds weight at the top, the drum's altitude reduces the surface area, and the clew needs to be higher to facilitate furling. The UV band also adds weight to the sail's leech.

However, it allows you to sail safely and reduce the sail area at any time.

- Horizontal cut, also known as straight cut or cross cut, is often the most economical choice.

It allows faster assembly and reduces fabric wastage.

Mainly made with Dacron woven materials (more sensitive to deformation than laminates), it will perform slightly less well than the tri-radial cut, but will ensure a good durability/price ratio.

- Woven materials are for the most part the choice of durability. They will perform less well than laminates, with inferior volume retention, even if performance can be improved with the choice of tri-radial cutting.

- SAILONET's woven materials for horizontal cutting

We currently offer only 2 high-modulus Dacron fabrics, Newport from CHALLENGE and AP/SF from DIMENSION POLYANT.

DIMENSION POLYANT is slightly more expensive and slightly more durable.
