- The classic mainsail, also known as “semi-battened”, is often more efficient.

It's lighter and less expensive than a battened mainsail, but requires more care, especially during furling.

WARNING: this type of sail cannot be used on a multihull!

- Horizontal cut, also known as straight cut or cross cut, is often the most economical choice.

It allows faster assembly and reduces fabric waste.

Mainly made with Dacron woven materials (more sensitive to deformation than laminates), it will perform slightly less well than the tri-radial cut, but will ensure a good durability/price ratio.

- Woven materials are for the most part the choice of durability. They will perform less well than laminates, with inferior volume retention, even if performance can be improved with the choice of tri-radial cutting.

- SAILONET's woven materials for horizontal cutting

We currently offer only 2 high-modulus Dacron fabrics, Newport from CHALLENGE and AP/SF from DIMENSION POLYANT.

Slightly more expensive and slightly more durable for DIMENSION POLYANT.
