Nylon downwind sails
All our sails are designed by CAD and cut on a numerical laser table
The Symetrical spinnaker:
The biggest of spinnakers, It is usually used with a spinnaker pole when sailing downwind ie:with the wind 90°–180° off the bow. It is the tradionnal downwind sail.
The asymetrical spinnaker:
It's surface is slightly smaller than a symetrical spinnaker,it's leech is shorter than it's luff. It may be used with or without a spinnaker pole. Its range of use is generally between 95°and 145°off the wind. It's an excellent compromise for cruise navigation. It's cut can be adapted for use from 80° to 120°, or 110° to 150°.
When cruising with a limited crew, we highly recommend to use this sail with a spinnaker sleeve.
The Gennaker: The Gennaker: Originally developped for multihulls and competitive sailing, the Gennaker is an intermediary sail (between spinnaker and genoa and correspondingly smaller in size). This sail is used with a furling system which allows the rolling up of the sail on itself and thus makes it far more easy to use. Made in heavy nylon or light polyester for bigger units, this sail will optimise the performance of your yacht in a close reach or in light winds. This sail may also be used between 55° and 105° off the wind. Ideally, fix the tack point to the bow and hoist the system with the spinnaker halyard.
Attention : this sail in not meant to be used partly rolled. The Furling system should be considered as an element of storage. Sailonet commercialises Facnor and Karver systems.
The sails Sailonet being custom made, on request we can optimize your sail to fit perfectly into your sailing program, ie: a gennaker made for downwind use or a " larger" spinnaker..
These sails are guaranteed for 2 years from date of purchase.
